MOTTO started out as a monthly email magazine mid-2021, hitting the inboxes of New Yorkers on the first of each month. It featured a list of tips for semi-secret happenings in the city, and one great adventure travel feature in newsletter form. Another unique component of the Motto e-letter is that it has always been invite-only, so the only way to join is to have a current member add you to the mailing list. Despite this tête-à-tête philosophy for growth – or perhaps owing to it – the MOTTO newsletter quickly went viral, becoming a bit of an overnight sensation across the Tri-State area (if we say so ourselves!)

Due to popular demand – and armed with a new, expanded mission of exploring singular locales, trends and adventure destinations globally- today’s MOTTO has been re-launched in May 2023 as a full-fledged digital resource, aimed at bringing first-hand guides and inspiring long reads to aficionados of unique experiences everywhere. The email magazine is still going strong, too, and is the place where most of our readers interact with MOTTO content on a monthly basis (ask a friend to shoot you through an invite today!)
